Moroccan Preserved Beldi Lemons by Mina
Meet An Icon: The Moroccan Preserved Lemon. These lemons cured in salt are an indispensable (and iconic) part of the Moroccan kitchen. Most often used to season tagines, salads and marinades, these small lemons add a salty, tangy punch.
Mina's beldi lemons are hand picked in Morocco and are cured in a brine of sea salt and water.
How to Use:
Rinse the lemon thoroughly to remove excess salt. The pulp can be used in marinades and dressings, but it’s common to remove the pulp and use the flavorful skin to enhance dishes. Add them to classics like Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemon & Olives or try adding them to our recipe for Zaalouk, a smoky Moroccan eggplant and tomato dip.
