Artisanal Hand Made Glazed & Decorated Tangia Pot With Lid
It's now possible to experience the Marrakechi classic dish tangia at home. Traditionally cooked in a clay pot or "kaloucha", this dish of meat, preserved lemon, garlic and cumin will wow your tastebuds.
As this is a handmade and hand painted piece, each item will vary slightly and may have minor imperfections in the clay or in the glaze around the rim.
Currently available in two sizes: 500g (1.1lbs) and 1kg (2.2lbs). The size rating indicated approximately how many kg of meat the pot can hold.
Each pot includes a removable lid for ease of sealing the pot. To prepare tangia in the traditional way, remove the lid and seal using parchment paper.
The exterior of the pot is partially glazed and is hand painted. The interior of the pot is glazed. We recommend seasoning all traditional cookware prior to first use. To season, soak in water overnight. The next day, let dry completely. Rub the inside of the tangia with olive oil and place in a 300 degree oven for 2 hours. Turn the oven off and let cool completely. You're now ready to cook!
