Traditional Moroccan Unglazed Clay Tagine
Taste Morocco at home with the most famous piece of Moroccan cookware, the tagine. Tagines are typically stewed meats, simmered in spices and cooked to perfection over low heat. Very little liquid is required thanks to the conical shape of the lid. Create classics like Lamb Tagine With Prunes, Chicken Tagine With Preserved Lemon & Olives and so many more.
For use on stovetop with a heat diffuser or can be used in the oven.
As these are handcrafted items, each will vary slightly and there may be slight imperfections in the clay.
Available in two sizes: 30cm (11.8 inches) & 25cm (9.8 inches).
To season the tagine prior to first use soak in water overnight. The next day, let dry completely. Rub the inside & outside of the tagine with olive oil and place in a 300 degree oven for 2 hours. Turn the oven off and let cool completely. You're now ready to cook!
Painted, glazed tagines in the same style are also available on bsaha.
